Treatment Summary

How it works: bespoke aligner system. Aligners are replaced every 1 week
at home and worn for 22 hours within each 24 hours.
Best for: misaligned teeth/teeth crowding/protruding teeth/widely spaced teeth.
Recovery time: none.
Duration of results: permanent when retainers are used successfully.
Full results: 6-24 months, depending on case complexity.
Sessions: regular progress checks on average every 4+ weeks (varies depending on treatment plan).
Anaesthetic: none (unless tooth extraction is needed prior to treatment).

The Benefits

Excellent patient flexibility and freedom
Invisalign® allows patients a 2-hour daily window where they can take their aligners out for brushing and eating – something not possible with a fixed metal brace. This window is also useful if you have a presentation at work or you want to input a mouthguard to play contact sport.

More straightforward to eat and brush
One of the biggest complaints patients have about traditional fixed braces is that they can’t eat a varied diet, as harder and tougher foods are off-limits due to potential damage to the brace. With Invisalign®, this risk is much lower.

It is also significantly easier to brush and floss than with a traditional brace, meaning you can maintain good oral health with much less difficulty.

Discreet aligners
Invisalign® aligners are one of the most discreet orthodontic appliances available. When you’re wearing them, it’s unlikely that anyone will even notice their presence.

How It Works

Invisalign® involves several hassle-free steps:

Step 1: Consultation
Full consultation with Dr. Ayesha. She will answer all of your questions about treatment, as well as questions about your lifestyle and medical history.

Dr Ayesha will then be in a position to outline if you are currently clinically suitable and how Invisalign® may or may not fit your lifestyle.
Any problems such as dental decay or gum disease will require treatment prior to Invisalign®.

Step 2: Invisalign® Smile Projection & Planning
The innovation of Invisalign® allows Dr Ayesha to display an accurate mock-up of your post-treatment smile,
giving you a sound idea of how you can expect it to look.

Dental X-rays, scans/impressions and photographs are taken and used by Invisalign® to produce your Invisalign® aligners.

Step 3: Wear your Invisalign®
Your aligners should be ready approximately 2 weeks after the treatment planning appointment.
You can then take them home to wear, beginning your treatment.

Step 4: Completing your Treatment + Retainer
Once your teeth have reached the predicted alignment, your treatment is complete.
As prescribed, you will need to wear a retainer to keep them in their post-treatment position.

What can Invisalign® fix?

invisalign before after

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

invisalign before after

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.
