Dermal Fillers

Lost volume across the skin on the face is a subtle progression that can give away your age. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers carefully replace the lost fibroblasts (connective tissue) within the skin, leading to plumper, more supple, and smoother skin. Fillers are also effective for lifting skin that has started to lose the elasticity synonymous with youth. Dermal fillers can be administered at the following sites across the face:

Lip Rejuvenation

The lips are the most popular requested treatment area with dermal fillers. Whether you are genetically predisposed to having a thin lip area or have lost volume in the area due to ageing and lifestyle habits, dermal fillers can plump, contour, and add symmetry to the area.

Tear Trough

Under-eye skin is the most delicate on the face and, therefore, prone to ageing prematurely by comparison to other areas. Tear troughs are under-eye circles that can appear when the volume is lost under the eyes. Fillers reintroduce this volume, brightening and plumping the area.

Cheek Enhancement

Loss of cheek volume can lead to a gaunt and fatigued-looking mid-to-upper face region. Cheek filler reverses this hollowness and can be used to define and sculpt the cheek area.

Jaw Enhancement

Hyaluronic acid can be administered between the jawbone and epidermis to define and angulate the jaw area for a more balanced and in-proportion lower face.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Also called a ‘liquid nose job’, non-surgical rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive way to improve the appearance of a disproportionate nose and to balance the nose more pleasingly against your other facial features.

Marionette Lines

These are the lines that begin to appear downwards from either corner of the mouth (they are named so as they resemble the lines of a marionette puppet). Dermal fillers can fill these lines out and prevent the lower face from sagging.

Nasolabial Lines

This is the deep crease that runs either side of the nose area towards the corners of the mouth. It becomes more pronounced as fat depletes from the cheek area. This gives the impression of the fold appearing deeper. Softening these lines can even out the large creases, which create shadows on either side of the face.

Filler Dissolving

Dr Ayesha can also offer filler-dissolving services for patients who no longer wish to have the presence of filler in their skin or require corrective treatment.

FAQs

What causes loss of skin volume?

Skin volume will start to happen once the fibroblasts in your skin (collagen and elastin) start to become affected by a lack of moisture retention (which occurs with ageing). It can also occur and accelerate due to sun exposure, smoking, alcohol use, a poor diet and lack of exercise.

When is the best time to start dermal fillers treatment?

Your natural collagen and elastin levels start dipping around your later 20s to early 30s, though lifestyle can affect the time at which this occurs. This is when subtle signs of volume loss begin.

During your consultation, Dr Ayesha can give you a sound idea of whether you need to start treatment (or are currently more suited to using medical-grade products on a day-to-day basis). If volume loss is still in its infancy, she will use the filler as sparingly as possible, which
will reduce the need to use too much product later down the line (which can begin to affect the organic and natural result of treatment). ”Less is always more” is her motto!

Using medical-grade SPF moisturiser daily will enhance the results of and maintain your dermal filler treatment. Dr Ayesha can select products from the NeoStrata, and Obagi ranges to address this during a medical-grade skincare consultation.
