Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the clinical name for excessive sweating. Dr Ayesha has helped many patients with this condition and seen first-hand the dramatic increase in life-changing confidence and well-being treatment can bring.

A huge dose of confidence

Hyperhidrosis can be a really debilitating condition. Whilst it isn’t a threat to your health, being aware that you’re sweating more than the average person can be a huge blow to your confidence. Once this minimally invasive treatment has taken effect, you can live your life free from the worry of others noticing sweat patches on your clothes and excess sweat on your face.

Enjoy activities to the fullest

Excess sweating can make activities as simple as holding a pen a challenge. After treatment, you won’t have to stress about this, nor will you need to worry about taking a change of clothes with you everywhere you go.

FAQs

How does Hyperhidrosis treatment work?

Hyperhidrosis draws on the same mechanics as anti-wrinkle treatment. Treatment is a series of neuromodulating solutions designed to stop the brain from communicating to the sweat glands that the body is required to sweat. During the period in which treatment takes effect, the body won’t produce excess sweat, nor will there be any “backlog” of sweat once the effects have worn off.

Can treatment target any area that produces excess sweat?

Hyperhidrosis treatment isn’t just for the sweat glands under your arms. It can also be used to reduce sweat production at sites such as the palms of your hands, feet, and face.

Why do I sweat so much?

There are two types of hyperhidrosis:

Primary Hyperhidrosis: is characterised by a genetic predisposition to excessive sweating and generally manifests during childhood.

Secondary Hyperhidrosis: due to an underlying medical condition such as anxiety, diabetes, or use of certain medications/coming off certain medications.

During your consultation, Dr Ayesha will diagnose the reason for your hyperhidrosis before confirming if treatment is suitable.
