Microneedling

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that encourages cell regeneration and deep skin exfoliation. It is particularly effective for resurfacing skin texture and addressing photodamage but can also address multiple other skin concerns. Microneedling is suitable for treating skin concerns across the face, neck, and hands. It can help to address and diminish the following concerns:

Sagging skin

Loose areas of sagging skin can be tightened.

Acne scars and open pores

Open pores, acne scars and subsequent hyperpigmentation can be diminished.

Skin dullness and photodamage

Skin dullness and wear and tear as a result of free radical damage can be improved.

Fine lines and wrinkles

The formation of new collagen and elastin diminishes the appearance of existing lines and wrinkles.

FAQs

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling is administered using a pen-like device fitted with several tiny needles. These create microinjuries across the skin, inducing it to believe it needs to make new collagen and elastin quickly as a result of the controlled microinjuries, resulting in a new layer of healthy-looking skin. Post-treatment, you will notice your skin’s overall radiance, colour and texture improve as treatment improves skin circulation.

Dr Ayesha will select the appropriate needle depth to address the specific skin concern you are looking to improve. A serum containing beneficial active ingredients is then applied to the skin whilst the channels in the deeper layers of the skin are open.

What age should you start microneedling?

Collagen and elastin supplies begin to tail off around your late 20s and early 30s. This is a good time to begin microneedling to maintain a healthy and youthful glow.

As microneedling addresses specific skin concerns like acne, acne scarring and photodamage, it is suitable for adult patients of any age.
