Wrinkle Correction Treatment

Ageing gracefully can be a reality without having to go under the knife. Dr Ayesha offers tailored wrinkle correction treatment, applying minimally-invasive techniques and keeping a natural result in mind all throughout your treatment journey. Wrinkle correction treatment can be administered to reduce fine lines and wrinkles at the following sites across the face:

Frown Lines

Vertical static frown lines between the eyes can give the impression of appearing angry, tired, and stressed (even when you aren’t!). As one of the more prevalent wrinkles on the face, reducing frown lines can result in a significantly more youthful appearance, as people tend to look at the top half of the face when they speak to and engage with you.

Forehead Lines

Forehead lines can become deep creases, especially in people who are genetically disposed to have them (which can happen during your mid to late 20s). Wrinkle correction treatment can smoothen out horizontal and vertical forehead lines, giving a more overall youthful appearance to the upper face.

Crow’s Feet

These are the lines located on the outer side of each eye and are often one of the first lines to appear, as the skin in the eye area is delicate. Treating wrinkles in the eye area can revitalise what many consider to be the ”windows of the soul”, where much of our emotional expression originates from.

Eyebrow Lift

Drooped and hooded eyebrows can be lifted to reveal more of the eye area using wrinkle correction treatment.

FAQs

How does wrinkle correction treatment work?

Wrinkle correction treatment is a non-surgical means of reducing some of the earliest signs of ageing. A quick and convenient treatment, wrinkle correction is administered with a fine needle. A neuromodulating substance is applied to targeted sites across the skin on the face. It temporarily has a paralysing effect on the nerves that would ordinarily tell the muscles to contract.

Without this contraction, wrinkles and lines become softened, leaving you with more even-textured and youthful-looking skin.

When is the best time to start anti-wrinkle treatment?

Anti-wrinkle treatment is worth considering when wrinkles and lines begin to appear when you make subtle facial expressions (frowning, raising your eyebrows and smiling). Your natural collagen and elastin levels start dipping around your later 20s to early 30s, though lifestyle can affect the time at which this occurs.

During your consultation, Dr Ayesha can give you a sound idea of whether you need to start treatment (or are currently more suited to using medical-grade products on a day-to-day basis). If your wrinkles and lines are in their infancy, she will use as little of the anti-wrinkle neuromodulator as possible, which will reduce the need for using too much product later down the line (which can begin to affect the organic and natural result of treatment). ”Less is always more” is her motto!

What causes lines and wrinkles?

A number of lifestyle habits can accelerate the formation of lines and wrinkles (such as smoking, alcohol consumption, a poor diet and failing to exercise). However, the biggest cause of line and wrinkle emergence remains sun exposure.

Using medical-grade SPF moisturiser each day will enhance your anti-wrinkle treatment and prevent you from requiring injectable treatments as often as if you did not use it. To address this, Dr Ayesha can advise on products from the NeoStrata and Obagi range.

Genetics also play a part in the formation of wrinkles. If you’ve noticed you have wrinkles due to repeated facial expressions that run in the family, wrinkle correction can reduce their appearance.

Do I need any follow-up treatment?

Anti-wrinkle treatments act temporarily to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Therefore, top-ups are recommended every 3-4 months if you wish to maintain the initial results of your treatment. Repeated rolling treatment can result in lasting effects beyond 3-4 months.

Dr Ayesha also strongly recommends a medical-grade skincare consultation alongside anti-wrinkle treatment. Using the correct prescription skincare ingredients in the optimal strengths for your skin type will complement treatments such as anti-wrinkle treatment by nurturing and protecting your skin against free radical damage.
